Football is a game of simple grace and power, grit and glory unleashed in small explosions. It's poetry in motion. Fast forward, that is. The 'Shoe doesn't need pages of stat-crunching analysis to find the essence of the game. 17 weeks. 17 syllables. That's all we need.  Beat that, ESPN.

he tries to work up a sweat.
Day off for punter.

With each completion,
Peyton breaks Chief's wall of noise.
Silent awe remains.

Determination
Battle of opposing wills.
Blue acts; Red reacts.

Many stand in it,
the shadow of Johnny U.
Peyton casts his own.

Neither wind, nor cold,
nor blitzing Belichick scheme
will rattle these Colts.

Those who don't learn from
history will repeat it.
Beantown curse broken.

Defense, not offense,
will be the key to the Colts'
ticket to Houston.

Cherish this moment.
Colts now stand at the threshold.
Greatness awaits them!
